In the excerpt Bobby, it states that Bobby is a kid that lived a normal life like all the rest of his siblings. He grows up a regular life, but then when graduates his last year of High School, he was killed in a car Accident. In the excerpt, it says, "Bobby was just like all of us kids, except he didn't get the chance to grow up, in his last year of High School, he was killed in a car accident."

In the excerpt of the story Marshfield Dreams, Ralph Fletcher talks all about his childhood. He says where he lived as a kid, what his neighborhood was like, and what he did as a kid. At the ending of the excerpt, it is sort of a sad ending where he explains that he left his shoe behind in the mud, and that was his only memory of Marshfield.
